To address the increase in scams involving calls / SMSes received from non-local phone numbers, VIVIFI now allows customers to block incoming Calls and SMSes from phone numbers not registered in Singapore. This service is FREE for all VIVIFI customers.
What is IDD Calls Block?
IDD Calls Block is a service that allows customers to block, on a best-effort basis, incoming calls received from phone numbers not registered in Singapore, regardless of who the caller is.
Please note that if this service is activate, you will not be able to receive incoming calls from both scam-related and legitimate sources such as family members/ friends/ businesses/ banks/ emergency services using phone numbers not registered in Singapore.
What is IDD SMS Block?
IDD SMS Block is a service that allows customers to block, on a best-effort basis, incoming SMSes received from phone numbers not registered in Singapore, regardless of who the sender is.
Please note that if this service is activate, you will not be able to receive incoming SMSes from both scam-related and legitimate sources such as family members/ friends/ businesses/ banks/ emergency services using phone numbers not registered in Singapore.
How can I activate this service?
New mobile line sign-up
If you are signing up for a new mobile line, you may choose to toggle on "Bar incoming international calls" and/or "Bar incoming international SMS" to activate these services. The barring will be effective upon SIM activation.
For customers submitting the order for multiple VIVIFI Share main and/or sub lines, the selected setting will apply for all mobile lines in that order.
The selected setting for each mobile number can be changed at any time after the SIM has been activated.
Existing Customers
You can activate/deactivate IDD Calls Block and/or IDD SMS Block service by logging in to your VIVIFI account after your SIM has been activated.
1. Log in to VIVIFI Account
2. Select Manage > International Calls / SMS
3. Click View/Edit
4. Toggle on/off "Bar incoming international calls" and/or "Bar incoming international SMS"
5. Click on Submit
6. Choose Your OTP Authentication Method (Email or SMS)
7. Enter the OTP
8. Click Next to confirm your submission.
If the activation/deactivation is successful, the green pop-up notification will be displayed. You will also receive an SMS notification on the activation/deactivation of the service.
What happens after I activate this service?
If you have activated IDD Calls Block, you will not be able to receive incoming calls from phone numbers not registered in Singapore, whether you are in Singapore or overseas. However, you will still be able to make outgoing calls to non-Singapore registered phone numbers.
If you have activated IDD SMS Block, you will not be able to receive incoming SMSes from phone numbers not registered in Singapore, whether you are in Singapore or overseas. However, you will still be able to send outgoing SMSes to non-Singapore registered phone numbers.
Please note that if you want to block both IDD Calls and SMSes, you will need to activate both IDD Calls Block and IDD SMS Block.
Once IDD Calls Block / IDD SMS Block has been activated, incoming international Calls / SMSes will be blocked on best-effort basis.
How can I know if I have successfully activated this service?
If you have successfully activated the service, you will receive an SMS notification from VIVIFI on the service activation.
I have activated IDD Calls Block. Will I be informed each time someone calls me from non Singapore-registered phone number?
No, the incoming international call will be blocked and you will not receive any notification on the blocked incoming international call.
I am currently overseas. What happens if I have activated IDD Calls / SMS Block service?
If you have activated IDD Calls / SMS Block, you will not be able to receive incoming calls / SMSes from phone numbers not registered in Singapore.
However, you will still be able to receive incoming calls from Singapore-registered phone numbers while you are overseas.
You will also be able to make outgoing calls / send outgoing SMSes to both Singapore-registered and non Singapore-registered phone numbers while overseas.
Roaming call / SMS charges will still be applicable if you are receiving / making calls or sending SMSes while overseas.
I am expecting calls / SMSes from overseas. How can I disable IDD Calls / SMS Block service?
You may choose to disable IDD Calls Block or IDD SMS Block service at any time by logging in to your VIVIFI account.
How can I check if I have successfully disabled IDD Calls / SMS Block service?
You will receive an SMS notification from VIVIFI on the service deactivation.
